Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers

What is the cost for dermal fillers?
You can find details for our pricing structure on the pricing page

Does the treatment hurt?
We believe that you should not feel too much discomfort when undergoing any of our treatments. We offer a topical or local anaesthetic at no extra cost.

How long do the effects last?
Most clients choose to have follow-up treatments six to twelve months after the initial treatment of wrinkles or facial contouring.

What happens during treatment?
During the treatment, the crystal-clear gel form of hyaluranic acid is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The gel then gives natural volume and smoothes the wrinkles.

What is Botox?
Botox consists of a protein produced by a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum. It is a non-surgical procedure and should only be administered by a medically qualified Doctor, Nurse or Dentists.

How does it work?
Small doses of Botox are injected into various muscle of the face and is used to reduce frown lines, forehead lines, lines around the mouth and crows feet.By injecting Botox into these muscles nerve transmission is blocked causing the muscles to relax and become less active.

How long does Botox last?
There will be a noticable improvement to the lines on your face within 5-7 days and thereafter the results of Botox will last from 3-7 months, the results vary from person to person.

What are the side effects?
Common side effects can include headache, bruising at the injection site, and sometimes flu-like symptoms, less commonly brow or lid drooping which if they occur can last 1-2 weeks.

Will I look unnatural with Botox?
Botox will not make you look permantly surprised or radically alter your appearance, you will still be able to smile and frown.
At the Face and Skin Clinic we aim to smooth out any unwanted static lines and help achieve a vibrant fresh and above all natural look.

What is mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy involves a series of injections containing vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and amino-acids directly into the mesoderm(middle layer of the skin) to nourish , rejuvenate and stimulate production of collagen and elastin.

What does Mesotherapy involve?
Multiple micro- injections using a very fine needle are administerd immediately beneath the skin surface to the affected area. The objective is to replace the minerals vitamins and amino acids that are lost as we age.

Is Mesotherapy painful?
Treatment is not painful but a slight discomfort may be experienced, Anaesthetic cream can be applied prior to treatment.

How long does the treatment take?
Treatment time is approximately 30 minutes

How often do I need to repeat treatments?
The Vitamin Facial is usually performed over an initial series of one session per week for 4 weeks
Results are then maintaind by twice a year touch up sessions.

What are Thread Veins?
These are tiny blood vessels in the skin. Usually they cause no trouble, but occasionally they cause a burning sensation or pricking sensation. They do not usually indicate a serious vein condition and are not a threat to your health.

Can they be treated?
In most cases thread veins need no treatment, but microsclerotherapy can improve their appearance and alleviate symptoms.

What is microsclerotherapy?
A chemical called a sclerosant is injected into the thread vein with a very fine needle. It causes the thread vein to close and fade over the course of several weeks. It is not a perfect treatment and you will not get a perfect skin but it gives improvement in the majority of cases. A course of 3 to 4 treatments separated by 6 to 10 weeks is usually needed to achieve the required degree of fading.

Will treatment hurt?
No. The needles used are very fine and the sclerosant used is painless on injection.

Are there any side effects?
Yes. The vessels are fragile and will look worse for the first few weeks after treatment. Serious side effects are very rare indeed. About a fifth of patients have bruising or pigmentation. Fine red vessels can develop after treatment. These side effects fade with time.

Must I stop the pill or HRT?
No, but the success rate is slightly lower.

Is the treatment permanent?
No. You may need top up treatments every 2-3 years as new thread veins develop.
